The Soft Open

Is the Djali Zwan cover of Iron Maiden’s “The Number of the Beast” the best thing that Billy Corgan has ever been invovled with? Maybe. It’s possibly the most memorable aspect of Jonas Akerlund’s first feature Spun. The song also features in the openning credits of Netflix’s latest true crime series, “The Innocent Man”. It’s an effective mood setter, but proved to be a distracting for me. I had to see if I could find it on Apple Music. It turns out that I had three versions of it somewhere up in the proverbal cloud.

There’s going to be a fair share of rust that has to be shaken off as I start to share my mundane thoughts on things again. I believe that this form of blogging is dead, but let’s try to breathe life into it one last time. If it works, then it works. If it doesn’t, then it doesn’t. This isn’t a mission statement as much as I’m trying to figure out how to use this platform. The mission statement will come in January. This is just a soft openning. The waiters, runners, and cooks are trying to get their timing right.
